Home!
The Mongol Dragons arrived back in Wales yesterday afternoon approximately 17000 miles after leaving.
The last few days have seen us spend more time in the Czech republic. We were fortunate enough to get tickets for Wales’ Euro 2008 qualifier in Teplice on Saturday, having told the Football Association that we had come from China for the game!
On Tuesday evening we noticed some British cars in Prague covered in rally stickers. It turned out we had stumbled across the Czech Wrecks banger rally (www.czechwrecks.com), arriving after four days’ drive across Europe. It was fun to swap stories over a pint or two.
We flew to London on Tuesday morning and saw Wales’ friendly with Brazil at White Hart Lane - another unexpected bonus (despite the scoreline!). Then on Wednesday we caught the Megabus to Cardiff.
It’s nice to be home, to catch up with people and relax. But I can’t stop thinking about our adventures: riding on the window frame through the desert in Kazakhstan; camping deep in the forests of Siberia; winding over the mountains of Kyrgyzstan; arguing with police in Moldova; partying with the British Ambassador in Ulaanbaatar…
